It’s currently 10:15 pm and it’s time for bed for most of us counselors; a 5 am wake-up call is what awaits us in the morning. Despite having to get out of bed before the sun even rises, I know that I personally will have trouble falling asleep. Why, you may ask? Because I’m THAT excited for HOKIE CAMP 2008!!! Fifty enthusiastic, passionate, and ridiculously fun counselors await the arrival of about 250 new Hokies, to spend 36 hours together in what should be a very memorable and amazing experience for all of us. Virginia Tech is a special place; ask anyone who attends or has graduated, and they’ll be abe to tell you the same exact thing. However, it’s impossible to sit down and tell someone “why” Tech is the way it is, you just have to experience it. Fortunately for these lucky freshmen, tomorrow will provide them with a sneak-peak of just what it means to go to Virginia Tech, and more importantly, what it feels like to be a HOKIE! Old Hokie…Traditions…ENTER SANDMAN…My adrenaline is pumping just thinking about the experience that begins in less than 12 hours. Time for me to get to sleep (or at least try to). But most definitely I’m always PROUD TO BE A HOKIE!!!
